Chicago Temporary Disability Attorney

Cook County Partial Disability Insurance Benefits Lawyer

If you are now out of work because of an injury you sustained on the job, there are resources out there to help you along. Whether you have a temporary total disability or a temporary partial disability, an experienced Chicago temporary disability lawyer can help you protect yourself.

At the Seidman Law Firm, we know how hard it is to keep your life together after a serious workplace accident. We want to make sure you continue to get paid, so you can stay focused on your recovery. We know how these cases work and we are familiar with the wide range of options at your disposal.

Attorneys Ready to Help You With TTD or TPD

Even if you take care of your medical costs after your workplace injury, you will soon find that there are other financial consequences. Your lost wages can add up quickly. Luckily, there are solutions out there for people who are unable to return to work right away because of a temporary disability suffered at work:

  • Temporary total disability (TTD): If you are unable to return to your old job and your employer is unable to accommodate your disability, your employer must pay you TTD benefits equal to two thirds of your previous weekly wage.
  • Temporary partial disability (TPD): If you are able to return to work, but you cannot perform the same tasks because of your injury, you may be making less money. However, you are entitled to two thirds of the difference between your current wages and your previous wages through TPD benefits.

Your employer should start making TTD or TPD payments within fourteen days of receiving notice for your injury. If your employer fails to pay you promptly without explanation, you can file a petition to order them to make payments.
