Steven J. Seidman, the founding member of Seidman, Margulis and Fairman, LLP, has been practicing plaintiff’s injury law for 40 years. During that time, he has successfully tried thousands of cases to award or verdict. Combining a tireless work ethic with a keen understanding of the law, Steve has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation for the firm’s clients, securing many multi-million dollar jury verdicts. Among those, Steve obtained a $26.1 million gross verdict for a seriously injured truck driver injured in a scrapyard. Further, his verdict of $3.8 million for an attorney who contracted Legionnaire disease at the JW Marriott in Chicago was the highest reported verdict in Illinois history for that type of injury.
In addition to pursuing compensation for injuries due to the negligence of others, Steve also concentrates in workers’ compensation law, ensuring those injured at work achieve the maximum compensation afforded under the law. Steve recently negotiated a $6 million settlement for a seriously injured police officer, believed to be the highest, if not the highest, workers’ compensation settlement in Illinois history.
Steve prides himself on never backing down from a difficult case, known for aggressively negotiating each case and taking cases to trial whenever necessary to obtain maximum compensation for the client. He is recognized by his peers as a Leading Lawyer (reserved for the top 5% of attorneys), honored as a SuperLawyer, and has consistently achieved the highest AV preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, selected by the judiciary and his peers. Other lawyers in the field often call upon Steve to serve as an arbitrator to assist in bringing their own cases to resolution.
“Every case I work on has the same importance as another. I value our clients and their trust in allowing me to help them with their legal matters during a difficult time in their lives. I have been honored to meet wonderful people under dire circumstances, and have put forth my greatest effort for every one of our clients. I have enjoyed maintaining relationships with many of our clients long after their cases have resolved.”
